In this world

Hello everyone, a quick share, in a hurry today, so will keep it short.

A simple card to share, I chose a white base, half of the sentiment is computer generated, I chose a quote" In a world where you can be anything, Be yourself", added because to it and then stamped the rest of the sentiment, the die cut "love" is from Spellbinders.

I sponged blue on the top, and used hearts as masks to make heart shaped clouds, kept it really soft. that's it. Hope you all like it.

Sponged candle, and glittery birthday wishes

Good morning everyone! posting a card after few days, Its almost a one layer card, but for the die cut sentiment. I bought my much needed white card stock, I missed using white for last few days!!
I started with sponging the bottom with a red pigment ink, and faded it as I moved up. Then I sponged a candle and the flame using blue and yellow shades of ink.
I bought this glittered foam, so used it for my die cut sentiment, it adds interest, without too much of glitter. That's it...didn't feel like adding anything else. I am quite satisfied with the finished card. Hope you all do like it!! Forget to mention that the die cut is from Spellbinders.

A closer look at the glittered foam.

Rasam~ south indian tomato soup

Hey everyone, posting a recipe after a long time. Actually I was typing it out for my friends, and thought of adding it to the blog as well.
It is called Rasam, its a south indian dish, it has many variations. Some make it with tomatoes only, some add tamarind too, and at times some lentil stock too.
The one I usually make is with tomatoes and tamarind. So sharing my version, you can adjust the sour taste as per your tastebuds.

In my household, it is a very common plus favorite dish, which I make at least once a week, or more at times. It is a best anti dote for flu.

Let's look at the ingredients.

 4 medium sized tomato, halved
half a lime sized seedless tamarind
1/2 cup tomato puree
1/2 tsp rasam powder
1/4 tsp red cjili powder
1/4 tsp turmeric
salt to taste
oil for seasoning
2 whole dry chili for seasoning
Fresh curry leaves, a sprig
 Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

for the spice mix
1. 1tsp Black peppercorns(kali mirch)
2. 1 tsp cummin seeds
3. 1/2 tsp coriander seeds
4. 8-10 garlic pods(if big pods, then 3)

Crush the dry spices roughly, and then add the garlic and crush it again.
the mix should be coarse not a fine mixture.
Keep it aside for later use.

Below is the coarsely grounded spice mix.

Procedure

1. Add 2 cups of water and bring the tomato and tamarind to boil and turn off the heat after 5-7 minutes OR microwave on high for 4 mins. Let it cool.

2. Take out the tomatoes and tamarind and blend it in a blender to a smooth paste. Once done, sieve the paste directly into a big pot, add the remaining boiled water, add in the tomato paste too, mix and adjust the consistency. It should not be a thick gravy like consistency. It should be more flowing. By straining, you will get rid of the tomato skin and the seeds.

3. Add the rasam powder, turmeric, red chili powder and salt to the sieved tomato mix and heat it for about 10 minute. Fine white bubbles will start to appear on the rasam. Once the bubbles are formed , switch off the heat. DO NOT BRING IT COMPLETE BOIL.

You can see in the above picture.

5. Take a small pan to prepare the seasoning.
heat the oil, add mustard seeds, let those splatter.
then add the dry red chili and curry leaves, once fried, add the grounded spice mix.
fry till the garlic is light brown, then add this  to the rasam mix. See below.

Rasam is ready. Enjoy it with steamed rice, and a side dish of veggies. Or simply serve it in a bowl and savor it like a soup.

Hope you try out this recipe, and enjoy it.

Black and red Valentine card

Good morning everyone, a brand new week has started here in my part of the world, and today I am up with a valentine card. This time a dramatic card with bold colors.
I chose a white base, but the front doesn't a bit of white on it. I added a black textured panel at the very top, and then added a red textured panel, I did die cut using a heart die before adhering this panel. Added 3 hearts with a wink of stella in different colors, and finally adding the die cut sentiment from spellbinders, and few black rhine stones to finish off. I like the card with this color conbo, hope you find it interesting too.

Flowers and chevrons

Hey everyone, my second post of the day, it just happens that sometimes I am making more than one card, and end up with with too many cards and posts.
Sharing 2 cards now.

The first one up is a simple floral card, I used a bright yellow base card, and a white front. I masked the white front and stamped some flowers from mama Elephant - Water blooms. the colors and sketch are inspired by a challenge. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set.

Its a very simple and clean card, hope you all like it.

The second card is a masculine card, I chose a blue base, and a white front. I did chevron stamping from kaisercraft to create the background in 2 different shades of blue.
I also stamped the typewriter and the numbers from STAMPlorations. The die cut sentiment is from spellbinders. I had used a metallic blue card stock for this, this card is all loaded with blue shades.

Embossed and colored

Good day everyone, sharing a card which I made few days back.
It is a one layer card, I chose a shimmery card base, and dry embossed it, then I colored the embossed parts with my markers.
The colors are inspired by a challenge. The sentiment is from Avery Elle - handwritten notes.

A closer look at the embossed and colored part.

Music and Valentine

Hello everyone,
A quick share of a card.
I used a shimmery white base, and did chevron stamping on a plain white front in pink and blue, the chevrons are from Kaisercraft. Then I used some die cut heart and the word "Love" is from Paper Smooches die cut, and so is the word "you". That's all, nothing else is added.

Curtain Call
I was inspired by the soft colors on the scarf.

Paper Smooches Sparks
The dies and the stamp is from Paper Smooches.

Dazzling Diva Challenge
I have chose a musical heart inspired by the guitar, and a red heart inspired by the roses.

CASlicious Fun!

Hello everyone!
This is my second post of the day, if you are looking for my ATSM DT post, please click here.

I am sharing a few cards. I am out of my usual plain white card stock(I have some bits and pieces left though ;) ), I do have textured white, but at times I prefer plain card stock. Hence, I am using different colors from my stash, and frankly speaking, I am loving all the new colors other than white.

The first one up is a one of my favorite color combo, on this card the sentiment is the star, so all the stamping is very subtle and not in much in focus. The sentiment is computer generated, it is one of my many favorite quotes.
I chose a lavender base, and added a white front, I stamped flowers from WPlusDesigns - Embroidered bouquet. I am in love with this card, Hope you all like it.

The Paper Players
Since my previous entry was linked with too many challenges, I am adding another exclusive entry here, with the sentiment being in focus of this CAS card.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the second card, I chose a reddish maroon base, and added a peach front.
I stamped the sentiment "FRIEND" from WPlusDesigns, and the flowers too. The other part of the sentiment is from Wood ware Craft Collection.
Nothing much is added here to talk about.

Less is More

My third entry here, I thought it is a CAS card, and I can share again. I hope you guys are not getting tired of my entries ;)

CASology
I think frist time, I am going with a non- white card here, but it is a CAS.

Uniko
Another entry here, just a coincidence that I am making friends cards, and it fits well with this challenge.

 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My third card is also on Friend...yeah this is how it goes, when I get a stam out, I use it till I get tired of it ;)
I chose a pink base, and a white front, I chose the chevrons from Kaisercraft, and stamped in yellow ink. Then I used the flowers from WPlusDesigns using momento ink - angel pink. I added a black frame to the white front. I added few pink pearls to finish off.

Taheerah's Cure for the Monday Blues.
It is very evident that I had picked up my inspiration from the yellow sofa.

I don't own any Lawn Fawn Stamps, but I had created the background, using two different stamps.
